IN CHINA, at least one million Uighur Muslims have been taken from their homes and put in what the Chinese government calls ‘correction facilities’, which are in reality concentration camps, where brutal human rights abuses are taking place. Harrowing details of those human rights abuses are detailed during the podcast.

Meanwhile, in Hong Kong, the Chinese government has introduced harsh measures that severely erode free speech, freedom of expression and freedom of association.

In this podcast, Marcus Stead and Greg Lance-Watkins ask – where is Britain’s moral compass? Where is the West’s moral compass? Where is the world’s moral compass? What should be done, and perhaps more to the point, what can be done, to curtail China’s growing influence as a global superpower? And what will the long-term consequences be for ourselves, and for the generations that follow us, if we live in a world dominated by Chinese economic and political influence?

The podcast is available on the Talk Podcasts website, iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, SoundCloud and the TuneIn app.
